Check out our new Learn page!

We listened, we heard, we acted.

The new Learn page is designed to make it easier to get started, and easier to find what you are looking for. It is also pretty snazzy.  I’ve shrunk it to point out a few features that I think will go a long way towards making life easier for folks trying to find the information they need.

I personally think the folks who did this did a great job, and I’m very pleased and proud to be associated with it. That said, after a couple days of living with it, we’d be happy to have your feedback, suggestions, ideas and etc., as always!

In the meantime, I’ll enjoy what I think is a pretty significant improvement. Hope you find it not only more attractive, but (much more important) more useful.

great job!

Good that we can still see a list of all videos :) and that the additional learning resources are brought out more. Before they were just too grey :P

I understand that the Silverlight 1.0 stuff should be kept around for posterity, but why is it right there on the front page?  It's a tacit endorsement/encouragement for people to develop on a dead platform.  And can we ditch the SL 1.0 book ads?

In order to move forward, I think we should make a community effort to suppress Silverlight 1.0 tutorials, videos, etc. (burn the books, bury the links, develop self-brainwashing techniques to purge it from our minds)  I wouldn't have such an issue with it if the various SL versions could play together nicely.

in reply to ajhenderson,

yeah but SL 1 is currently the release version of Silverlight. It would be quite strange if we would toss all the vista books since Windows 7 is in the makings. Another thing to note is that as I understand Silverlight 1 will run on mobile Silverlight not SL 2... So I see plenty of reasons to keep the SL 1 stuff there... although yeah I use SL 2 too... not SL 1 :)

Ah, I dig...I wasn't aware that 1.0 was an official release.  I always considered it kinda beta-ish.  I guess the current relegation to the bottom of the page is the right thing, then, rather than my slash/burn/salt-the-crops plan.
